about
Featuring Renzo & Schlagmeister of Abraham.
Ok, this is a dark one. Plus, we feel it is sort of the most original tune on SSOTC. We summoned 2 archfiends of Abraham to come add their unsettling screams to our puny squeaks, making the textures way more evil than expected. Luckily, we survived the encounter.
As you may have noticed, most part of the song is basically one riff - only with tone shifts. It took some time to bundle it up, but in the end, we say that we are satisfied.
It's all about the end of the world.
lyrics
Fear has come upon the world, and with it the purring snakes of
Scorn, coiling around the necks of men, whispering disruptive thoughts
And all the while, we, the children of Cain, were blinking, thinking to
ourselves,
"How can they not see it, feel it, hate it to the bones ? How come they weep and yet
Smile, when the glowing snakes're around, and say pretty things to the petty kings that
Rule, the megalopoles of solitude, washed in neon light and lies
And all the while, we, the children of Music, were shouting, shouting at them
"Come over here ! Forget everything ! Come dance with us, and scoff at
Fear !"
No, no, no, they'd tell us "no" and raise their heads a bit
Though, sweat ran along their backs, and their eyes said yes, yes, yes
The seeds of light
Are thriving in me
Am I strong enough
To sprout hope ?
Clouds of spleen
Obscure our hearts
Whenever we dream
They dream that they're stars
Fear is growing inside the world, and the snakes are starting to
Breed, billions of starving worms, squeezing through the roots of life
And all the while, we, the children of wisdom, were calling our elders back,
So blind, so gullible, ignoring us but still we
Try, again and again until, they hear our voices and
Run, far from those fallen beasts, but their souls remain unclean
The seeds of light
Are thriving in me
Am I strong enough
To sprout hope ?
Clouds of spleen
Obscure our hearts
Whenever we dream
They dream that they're stars
When the Skies are yellow and frozen you will follow me.
When the race is over, Fear'll be lifted from the world.
And with it, the glowing, purring snakes of scorn.
