Swords & Wines

from Swan Songs Of The Coyote by June DeVille

/

about

Last one composed, and definitely not the worst. Making the transitions smooth was a bit of a challenge, but the result turns out to be quite decent.

The lyrics depict teenage issues and a life of adventures we all dream to lead but never dare. Wines and swords represent just that : unorderly loves, epic foes, fire in the veins. Instead of which we have computers and welfare states - but hey, that's ok, whoever coded the matrix.

lyrics

Headin’ forward
Goin’ nowhere
Consumed by fire
Never turned to ashes

I’m walking and running and leaping high
Naked but for my rage to find
The road of my ancestors’
This path of gold

Headin’ forward
Goin’ nowhere
I have no fear at all
Have no fear at all

I know the way to find my road
Is longer than the road itself
I am no sage but I’m no fool

YEAH YEAH YEAH turn on the night
YEAH YEAH YEAH
YEAH YEAH YEAH turn on the night
YEAH YEAH YEAH

Goin’ somewhere
Drunk and awesome
Have no fear at all
No money either

I must meet some friends o’ mine
In the fields of rye
They all bear very old names
Like “Love”, “Hush” and “Pain”

Goin’ somewhere, yes
Drunk and awesome, yet
Sometimes I feel I’m far too young
Feel I’m far too

YEAH YEAH YEAH turn on the night
YEAH YEAH YEAH
YEAH YEAH YEAH turn on the night
YEAH YEAH YEAH
